Overview
Mokala Shwas is a 2012 Marathi film directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni and produced by Solaris Pictures in association with Sachin & Baba Films. It stars Sharad Ponkshe in lead roles while Eknath Shinde, Prateekha Lonkar, Suresh Solapurkar, Shantibhai Sathe and Mrunmayee Deshpande play supporting roles. It is the story of a single man who is left alone with his two children as his parents are going to get remarried. Because of his job as an advertising executive, he has to live away from his family.
Plot
Aditya (Sharad Ponkshe) is the proprietor of a school. He is waiting for his parents to marry again and move in with his sister-in-law and children. He, as usual, is on the phone. One day, he meets Astha (Eknath Shinde), a curious boy, and they both fall in love. Astha and Aditya get married and join his father's family in the town of Khopoli, Pune. The rest of the story is that Astha has three children, and although Aditya continues to work in his career, he spends most of his time with his wife and children. One day, an old friend, Zoya (Mrunmayee Deshpande), turns up and starts asking difficult questions about Aditya. Even though it is true that Aditya has a girlfriend and is no longer married, he has been unable to give a satisfactory response to the questions. This eventually leads to a discussion between Zoya and Aditya's mother. Astha, in the meantime, is too ill to get out of the house for days, and Aditya takes care of her. The film ends with Astha's death and Aditya's acceptance of his own loneliness.
